Distillery Road Market is situated on the Gugigin tribal land.
The Gugigin people inhabited the area for tens of thousands of years.
We here at DRM pay respects to the ancestors who lived here before us and those descendants still living today.
TRIBAL CEREMONIES
Ceremonies shaped who my people were as a cultural race, their way of life and existence. From healings to many other special ceremonies, initiations into man and women hood was one of the most important. Instilling sacred knowledge, empowerment, spiritual connections and much more that is not allowed to be spoken of or divulged outside of the ceremony taking place.
These were held on the same areas, generation after generation for tens of thousands of years. The locations initially chosen in the beginning were strategic, as they held higher energy in the land than any other places on our tribal region. Allowing my people to harness that energy in the ceremonies.
